My first inspiration for this is my reading of Leonard Sax' books featured below:

These two books explain how boys and girls differ in their maturation and also explores the consequences of not paying attention to such differences.
Group projects, competitions, collaboration, peer to peer teaching, the importance of moving while learning are some of the concepts broached in these books.
So what is the ideal setting for boys to learn? Your usual, traditional setting? I am open . . . A deskless classroom? Mmmm . . . I have to look more into this . . . Or something in between. Watch below:
